Welcome to Shiba Inus bred by Blackcrest

Breeding sound minds...in sound bodies

Blackcrest is celebrating 25 years of breeding  excellence.  We breed  Shiba Inu puppies for both competition and companion purposes,  using  bloodlines from Japanese Imported Shiba Inu dogs, that have been veterinarian  checked for known breed specific genetic issues.   All Shiba Inu puppies are guaranteed under either a competition  contract or companion  spay/neuter contract.

I fell in love with the Shiba Inu, because of their unique large  dog characteristics in a small but sturdy body. Originating from Japan as  a prestigious family member, and hunter of small brush game, the Shiba Inu  is fast becoming known to the American public, as a family pet, as well as an athletic companion for  adult activities or a retirement years companion.

The Japanese Shiba Inu is a national monument, and one of the important cultures of Japan. Therefore to defend the standard of the Japanese Shiba Inu is to defend the Japanese culture. My goal as an breeder of the Japanese Shiba Inu is to preserve the old style Shiba temperament, powerful, faithful, lovely, and courageous, at the same time aim to breed dogs with correct conformation, powerful muscles, traditional and beautiful body style, with health considerations taken very seriously.

I  breed an occasional litter of Shiba Inu puppies,  with  an average of three puppies  per litter, and  maintain a reservation  list. Occasionally I have an adult Shiba, as well as Shiba Inu puppies  available to qualified homes. My Shibas are guaranteed   for known health issues and temperament irregularities.  Puppies are home raised and socialized from day one, using Dr. Carmen Batigilia's method of early neurological tactile stimulation combined with Japanese Reiki techniques.

Committed to preserving the true essence of the Japanese Shiba Inu
